Samala Venu is an active member of Rotary International since 12 years, Paul Harris Member, Member Fellowship of Rotarian Magicians, Indian Red Cross Society, YMCA, Osmania Graduates Association, PRSI, ABCI, International Brotherhood of Magicians, USA; Srilanka Magic Circle, Sri Lanka; Secunderabad Club; Indian Brotherhood of Magicians; Bharat Magic Circle; AP Magic Academy; National Youth Awardees Association,  Hyderabad Management Association, Andhra Balananda Sangham;  Patanjali Yog Samiti, Press Club of India, Sorcar Cultural Association; Roshini Music & Dance School, President Magicians Academy of India and participated in many National and International Magic Conventions.  

As a GSE Team Member visited Brazil,  later became Rotarian and successfully completed in different positions in Rotary like Charter President, Assistant Governor and now currently Chairman Public Relations Dist. 3150.   Was  Jury Member for the Prestigious 17th International Children’s Film Festival.

Samala Venu is a Magician, Illusionist and Hypnotist for more than 30 years from Andhra Pradesh.  He is a Post Graduate in Science (M.Sc) and Post Graduate in Public Relations (M.S).  He performed more than 7000 shows World-wide in 23 different countries.   To his credit is two Guinness Book of World Records  for performing Non Stop Magic Show for 36 hours without repeating any item in September, 1990 and for scooter Blind Fold for 3000kms in 17 days continuously covering all the 23 Districts of A.P. State, India for the cause of “Eye Donation & AIDS Awareness” in December, 1990.

He is a Rashtrapati Awardee and has won many International and National Awards in the field of Magic Show like National Youth Award, State Youth Award, Ugadi Puraskar all from Govt. of India and different State Governments.  International Awards include Indo-American Youth Award by Federation of Indo-American  Council in USA, Best Cultural Performer by TANA, U.S.A, Appreciation Award by European Telugu Association, U.K, etc.  

He is very well known for his service rendered in Socio- Cultural activities towards which he conducted numerous  Magic Shows in Rural Areas for Creation of Awareness on Witchcraft like Black Magic etc, on behalf of A.P State Government, India and in association with Rotary Club.  Many Times Conducted Free Magic Shows for the Benefit of Families of the Army and Air Force, Charity Magic Shows towards creating AIDS Awareness and for many such causes for the benefit of the society at large.  Every year on 6th July, performs Free Charity Magic Show for lesser privileged children and for elders from old age homes at Hyderabad and also provides them with free food and snacks.

Your fellowship will be attending the Rotary International Convention in Bangkok, Thailand, 6-9 May 2012. Our annual meeting is scheduled for Monday, 7 May 2012 from 08:00-09:30 in meeting room 17. Let Co-Chair/Secretary Jim Lang know if you will be at the convention and would be willing to perform for any meetings or in the House of Friendship.

Thus far we are aware that Samala Venu and Jim Lang are attending.
